Designing, Planning, and Building with Jellybeans!

Last week Ms. Williams and her class held a competition to determine who could create the tallest and sturdiest towers using only ten toothpicks and ten jellybeans.

Before getting started on construction, our emerging engineers had to sketch how they envision their jellybean tower would be assembled into their science journals. After the students had made their plan, they received their supplies and started building! Some students realized that their original designs would not work out as planned, so they went back to their sketches to make some changes.

Aidan was the winner with the tallest and sturdiest jellybean tower! His tower was about 12 inches tall and was able to stand on its own.
