Summer Camp 2016: Interacting With Robots

Our campers have been having so much fun with coding! From our BeeBot robots to Code Combat and Hour of Code to our latest little robot called Ozobot!

Ozobot can be programmed using its intuitive color language. It reads a specific color sequence and executes that Ozocode command. The students had a lot of fun learning how to use it and then creating their own color coded paths for Ozobot to follow. This took a bit of planning and patience to draw the codes just right, but in the end, they had so much fun!!!

Our campers also had great fun putting Bee-Bot through its paces. Directional keys are used to enter up to 40 commands which send Bee-Bot forward, back, left, and right. Pressing the green GO button starts Bee-Bot on its way.

Bee-Bot blinks and beeps at the conclusion of each command to allow children to follow it through the program that they have entered. It then confirms its completion with lights and sound. The campers even made their own maps for Bee-Bot to follow.
