Montessori School educators at Trevose Day School give children endless opportunities to embrace all that life has to offer by providing an academic experience combined with social, emotional, physical and intellectual challenges. Respect is at the core of the Montessori philosophy and that of our school. Respect for each child’s individuality and learning style sets the stage for academic development and success in school and life.
Dr. Maria Montessori recognized that children learn naturally from their environment and each other. Younger children are inspired by their older peers, thus inspiring them to grow and learn, while the older child garners a sense of accomplishment and pride by being a leader. The Montessori classroom at Trevose is for children from ages two-and-a-half through six years old. There are five areas of study in the Montessori program: practical life, sensorial, mathematics, language and cultural/science activities.
